GREG EDWARDS and CHRIS HILL - JFSN GIG REVIEW

At the end of last year the JFSN (JazzFunkSoulNights) team pulled together the two biggest names in the Funk and Soul World... The legends that are.. DJs Chris Hill and Greg Edwards.
Billed as the ultimate JazzFunk and Soul night outside of Caister, the two DJ giants made their debut at two events at former Hermitage Ballroom, Now the REMIX Nightclub based in Hitchin, Herts during September and October.

Both events were an outstanding success, hosted by DJs Ivan Childs, Mark Almond and Daz Lovelock, with many famous faces in the crowd, to name a few, Phil Fearon, Baby D, and the entire entourage of Lewis Hamilton, all there to enjoy the classic Caister Soul Sounds.

All the usual tunes were played such as GQ, Locksmith, Thelma Houston, Roy Ayres, El CoCo, Lonnie Liston Smith, Grover Washington and special pre-releases from Cool Million, Sunburst Band and Mario Biondi.

All the usual dance crews were there to support these major events, and from feedback received on the night and on the JFSN forums after the gig, it seems the whole thing was a thumbs up!
We are planning more events featuring top DJs and Acts from the world of soul in the latter part of 2010. Spread the word!

Classic Funk and Soul MegaMix

Following on from last years hugely successful Dance Mix featuring all the Classic tunes from the 70s and 80s, DJ Mark Almond has put together another MegaMix for 2010.

The mix features tracks from Thelma Houston, Mystic Merlin, Raw Silk, David Joseph, Instant Funk, Players Association, FLB, Jean Carn, GQ, Jazzy Dee, Hi Tension and Toney Lee.
